Since 2015, Signet Bank has been developing an international contemporary art collection that brings together works in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media. At the heart of this growing collection lies a commitment to courage and creative freedom — an openness to explore ideas beyond convention and form.
For one evening only, during Riga Art Week’s “Gallery Late” programme, visitors are invited to step inside Signet Bank’s space and encounter the collection in its natural habitat. The artworks are not simply decoration — they shape the atmosphere of the bank, sparking reflection and emotion for those who work there and for the guests who pass through.
The event showcases a curated selection of works by renowned and emerging artists from Latvia and beyond. Featured artists include Kaido Ole (Estonia), KIWIE (Latvia), Līga Spunde (Latvia), Andris Vītoliņš (Latvia), and Marko Mäetamm (Estonia), alongside international names such as Denis Prasolov (Russia), Michele Giangrande (Italy), Ulvis Alberts (Latvia), and Aidan Salakhova (Russia). The collection also includes pieces by Guntars Sietiņš (Latvia), Dmitry Kawarga (Russia), Rebecca Horn (Germany), Ēriks Apaļais (Latvia), and Francis Alÿs (Belgium/Mexico), offering a diverse and dynamic insight into contemporary artistic practices.
This one-night event offers a rare opportunity to experience a corporate collection that not only reflects the values of its institution, but also celebrates the evolving language of contemporary art.
Curator of the space: Ineta Done.
Signet Bank is one of the supporters of Riga Art Week.
